Pop In Sam's Cafe is a straightforward, no-frills spot in Teddington that feels like a reliable local haunt rather than a trendy café. Located on Stanley Road, it’s an ideal place for a casual breakfast or lunch, especially if you’re after a substantial plate without any fuss. The vibe leans towards the classic British "greasy spoon" style, but in a balanced way—portions are generous without being overly greasy, and the atmosphere stays warm and welcoming.

Regulars and visitors alike come here for the hearty Full English Breakfast and other brunch staples like omelettes, scrambled eggs, and a notable fry-up that manages to avoid being too oily. The food has a homely, practical appeal, perfect for starting the day or enjoying a midday catch-up. Coffee-wise, the menu covers the essentials from espresso and cappuccino to flat whites and hot chocolate, delivering a solid caffeine fix rather than anything fancy or Instagram-worthy.

Pop In Sam’s serves a diverse crowd, from families treating kids to classic chips on the side, to locals popping in for a tea and a substantial meal at off-peak times like mid-afternoon. The service has a straightforward friendliness, making it a comfortable spot where people can settle in without pretense. Although it’s not focused on ambiance or modern design, the staff’s approachable attitude helps keep the experience grounded and welcoming.

Best times to visit are mornings through early afternoons, as the cafe closes by 3pm, making it well-suited for breakfast, brunch, or a hearty lunch. Given the simplicity and ample portions, people who appreciate practical, honest British café food without the polish of a boutique coffee shop will find Pop In Sam’s exactly the kind of local place they want nearby. It’s less about lingering over a latte and more about a fulfilling, unfussy meal with decent tea or coffee to match.

Popped in here for late breakfast and a cuppa with my partner. We both got a fry up and really enjoyed it. It wasn't greasy and the portion size was perfect. Decent tea too. I thought it was well priced. Staff were polite and friendly. Would come back again. Thank you : )

No complaints! People giving this place a low rating seem like they're looking for some "artisan, symmetrical looking, want to put this on Insta", food and coffee! It's a no nonsense cafe. Good food, huge portions and great service.

Went in at 2pm today ( Sam’s closes at 3 ) with my 12 year old son for a treat. Very friendly service and just the right sort of greasy spoon ( in the right way ) cafe food that we’d hoped for. Son had bacon and huge portion of chips , I had eggs , fried slice , sausages and beans and a mug of tea. Perfect .

Omelettes are amazing and the service is a slick operation, an improvement would be an alcohol license as I would be able to have a quarter pounder burger with a glass of beer!
